Some little updates

Friday, June 12th, 2009

I am so busy in these days. Today I was sick to study Mathematical Method For Physics, so I took the time to fix some pages of the blog.

First of all, I finally created a page for the Unipoli project to our Programming Project Java opensource Monopoli game. Give it a try, it's funny and free! You can obviously download the binaries and the code, as well as all the documents we wrote during analysis and design phases. You can even download or browse the Javadocs! Here is a screenshot:

Then I also updated my CV that unfortunately remains in Italian. I am a bit confused about which language to use  everytime I write something, sorry!

Finally, the site has entered top 20000 Netcraft Most Visited Web Sites

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

It is always a great satisfaction to reach a goal. It took me about 3 years but I finally did it!
Today bd-things.net entered top 20k in Netcraft Most Visited Websites, at position 19058!
On September I desired to re-enter top 30k in about a year after the domain name change .
8 months after I reached a even better result.

I took two screenshots of the event , because I don't think that this will happen so much often in my life :)

I would like to thank all the visitors of bd-things.net for their support, even if I would be happier to see more comments that would surely help to improve my articles.

In something more than a month I will publish 3 project source codes: a C++ task manager, a simple dynamic website using Java EE5 and a C (subset) compiler. All of them started as University Projects. The first program will surely be expanded and improved after the publish of the source code. But before that time, I have to study hard for ca. 20 deadlines I must accomplish. See you again.

BD-things reaches Netcraft top 30000 in 4 months!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Netcraft began to evalutate the new domain of my site on September, 23rd 2008. After one month, the blog made a jump of about 700k positions in their rankings. I thought that I could reach top 30000 in 6 months starting from the domain change .
I've just realized that I reached the target in these days. BD-things is currently at position 28850 in the "Most Visited Web Sites" according to Netcraft. I'm above www.vodafone.nl :) .
This also means that BD-things.net made a jump of 797573 positions in less than 5 months!
I'm very proud of this result, and hope that this exam session finishes soon to let me come back to post again

2009 is a Zen year! Announcing BD-theme Zen

Monday, January 5th, 2009

2008 has been a

chaotic, beautiful, uncertain, loving, annoying, sad, inciting, exciting, claustrophobic, happy, insecure, agoraphobic, free, ugly, closed, wild, lonely, impetuous, serene, safe

year for me. It has been a year of changes.

I would like to enter this new year in a Zen way. I would like 2009 to be a year of tranquillity and serenity.
I want to free me from heavy, non-important details. I want to be more minimalist.

I want to focus on essence rather than on appearence.

While I'm preparing to act in this way, you can enjoy mi first step, the most easy one: a new Wordpress theme.
You can see BD-theme Zen working on my blog, but you can also download it and modify it under the Gnu GPL license (v.3)

Enjoy.

Un chiarimento sui designer

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

(Sorry about the use of the Italian language on this post. If you're not Italian, then you are not interested about the content of this page, anyway)

Lettera aperta ai visitatori:

Caro Visitatore,

Daniel Graziotin.

One month without a post..

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

...but there is a reason behind this. I'm working hard to a Django powered project that (hopefully) will serve the Italian population that wants to travel at low costs.
After the launch of the site, I will come back with tons of use(less)ful posts that nobody will read :-)
