First papers collected and analyzed

While I am waiting for my wiki to be setup, I’m updating here my first week of work. I read lots of papers regarding dynamic car pooling and friends. Most of them are listed on this MIT website and on dynamicridesharing.org. The second site is maintained by Dan Kirshner, the author of three (unlucky) experiments regarding dynamic car pooling.
I actually selected 13 publications for my scope. I’m going to publish the list as soon as I’ve got my wiki. What I’m going to do is to review them, comparing my work with the excellent one done by Hannes Zimmerman and Yann Stempfel (Current Trends in Dynamic Ridesharing, identification of Bottleneck Problems and Propositions of Solutions).

Finally, the site has entered top 20000 Netcraft Most Visited Web Sites

It is always a great satisfaction to reach a goal. It took me about 3 years but I finally did it!
Today bd-things.net entered top 20k in Netcraft Most Visited Websites, at position 19058!
On September I desired to re-enter top 30k in about a year after the domain name change .
8 months after I reached a even better result.

I took two screenshots of the event , because I don’t think that this will happen so much often in my life :)

I would like to thank all the visitors of bd-things.net for their support, even if I would be happier to see more comments that would surely help to improve my articles.

In something more than a month I will publish 3 project source codes: a C++ task manager, a simple dynamic website using Java EE5 and a C (subset) compiler. All of them started as University Projects. The first program will surely be expanded and improved after the publish of the source code. But before that time, I have to study hard for ca. 20 deadlines I must accomplish. See you again.

BD-things reaches Netcraft top 30000 in 4 months!

Netcraft began to evalutate the new domain of my site on September, 23rd 2008. After one month, the blog made a jump of about 700k positions in their rankings. I thought that I could reach top 30000 in 6 months starting from the domain change .
I’ve just realized that I reached the target in these days. BD-things is currently at position 28850 in the “Most Visited Web Sites” according to Netcraft. I’m above www.vodafone.nl :) .
This also means that BD-things.net made a jump of 797573 positions in less than 5 months!
I’m very proud of this result, and hope that this exam session finishes soon to let me come back to post again

bd-things and netcraft, 700000 positions in one month!

29 days after the inclusion of the new domain in Netcraft’s most visited web sites, my site made a jump of more than 700k positions, hitting position 111506. I’m very happy with these results and hope that I’ll reach the old result of top 30k with the old domain name in less than 6 months :)

The RiskRating is at “green” status, too!

bd-things.net, let’s start from 826423

In just three days the new domain from my blog (and things) has changed its status from “new site” to position 826423, according to Netcraft! This is surely because of the redirection of daniel.graziotin.net (which was near top 30k) to bd-things.net. I would like to reach top 50k in less than one year, and how couldn’t I start in a better way than creating a new bd-thing? Stay tuned, I may decide to announce it tomorrow

New domain: from daniel.graziotin.net to bd-things.net

As I previously announced, I purchased a brand new domain for my stuff.
The blog is changing during the months, becoming more than a blog but less than a site.
That’s because I decided to buy the domain BD-things.net, because this site contains all of my things, files, thoughts, projects, publications.
The old address daniel.graziotin.net now redirects permanently here and every link should have been updated/rewritten. Please contact me if you encounter problems.
I also took BD-blog.net which points here, too, but I won’t renew it the next year.
Some things are different now, but you won’t notice it ;)
I obviously lost my decent position at Netcraft’s Most Visited Web Sites rank list, but I don’t care. It will be funny to advance with the new domain and reach a even better position!
I hope there will be a new beginning and a brand new life with BD-things!
